Solid rock can float

Can a rock float? Well, yes, I suppose.

I was over in Ireland a couple of weeks ago, visiting my sister in a small village that I have known all of my life and there is a rock there - out of place to the immediate geology - St Declan's Stone. Declan was looking for a place to spread the word and left his bell on a rock, forgetting it. the rock followed Declan as he had put to sea and led him to a place where it came to rest; now Ardmore, on the South Coast of Ireland.

Here is my image of it and the floating thing kind of works :-)

Photography bits and pieces over the last few weeks:

  • gave a talk to a marketing agency, MEC and will be helping to judge their annual photo comp next month

  • had a great day out on a ferry from Salford Quays to Liverpool Pier Head - do it - take your camera!

  • attended a great workshop run by Terry Donnelly - ended up dressed as psychopathic medic/slasher

  • Had my Taylor Wessing entry rejected :-( Oh well :-)

  • Got to play with an Olympus ME1 - far better than I expected :-)
