Bus Stop Stories

These are images from my 2014  exhibition at the John Rylands in Manchester.  48,300 people through the doors whilst it was up.

It is a nine month study of a single bus stop that started out as a consensual street portrait study and ended up taking over a portion of my life.  Talking to people, hearing their stories, giving and receiving some human contact in an increasingly anonymous world.

There were days when I went to stand at the stop with little intention of capturing an image; it became a place to meditate, a place to step away from the normal pace of life and observe the progression of the day.  And the stories........  I've only put the images up here, not the stories.

If you can't find me some day, check at the bus stop; I might be back there - shooting, talking, meditating
